What is Baptism?

Baptism is a public profession of being made alive to God through faith in Jesus Christ. Immersion symbolizes a transformed life of dying to self and being made alive. In baptism the believer has chosen to publicly identify with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, promising to follow Him with the help of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 15:3–4Colossians 2:12).

Who Should Be baptized?

Every person who has trusted in Jesus alone for the forgiveness of sin and the hope of eternal life should take this first step of obedience and be baptized. The believer is baptized following salvation. Through taking this first step the believer is following the example set by Christ (Mark 1:9), walking in his commands (Matthew 28:19-20), and demonstrating that they have been born again (I John 2:3Romans 6:3-4Acts 2:41Acts 8:12).
